The USC American Academy in China (AAC) has partnered with the municipal government of Xi’an and ten international graduate programs in landscape architecture to transform 10,000 square meters of land into permanent garden space.
Each of the 10 schools have been granted a parcel of land, and the resulting landscape designs, showcased this July at our “Creative Nature” exhibition in Shanghai will later be fully implemented as part of the 2011 World Horticultural Exposition in Xi’an.
In addition, Creative Nature also features the work of professional landscape architects for the 2011 Xi’an World Horticultural Exposition. Wang Xiangrong, professor of the School of Landscape Architecture of Beijing Forestry University and chief editor of Landscape Architecture, curated the work of nine internationally acclaimed designers on a 9000-square-meter site.
